What part of France are you all from? I ask because my partner and I, along with other family members, are going to Morgins this August to celebrate her 65th birthday. Her birthday falls on the date Biot and other towns along the south of France were liberated in WWII, Aug 24, 1944.

Gwylene - I have just finished reading the incredible 'closing' documents, and what a journey that read was! I remember my time there with warmth and a slight sense of being overwhelmed, perhaps more in retrospect than in the moment. For me, you succeeded in really making something that spilled beyond itself. It can never be contained or summed up, as the documents testify. That is wonderful. And as for feedback, comments, I feel that the most valuable ones will be from people we'll never meet - people on the street who happened to witness a dance, or meet a stranger, receive a gift, students who left with some faith in the world, and those people we all met when we were there, at the cafe, in the street, on the waterfront. I am excited to see where this goes next. And sure that its many threads are dancing beautifully in the breezes of the present world. You have done so much, sparked so many thoughts and connections and friendships. Thank you.

I'm planning on the Charleston weekend, and will be in Columbia on the way, for the big public opening party the 23rd. They don't have the residence ready yet, but it is well on the way and will be truly gorgeous when it is done. The building is breathtaking! Ath this point I'm expecting to move in early November.
Adrienne Antonson is in the MEND show opening the 24th at the Halsey. I could hardly miss these events! I have loved bragging about your show, especially the dance and NMC. Brilliant use of aoo those amazing talents. BRAVO!

Well, I had fully intended to paper your walls with clever observations, but have barely kept nose above water. Have at least confirmed that I'll be in town from Friday night to Monday noon of the 12-14 weekend, and will be staying in town, so await your assignment. Can't wait to hang out with my campers and adopted tribe of New Music Collectives. The young folks in Charleston have my vote to inherit the earth.

To all of you upbeat visionaries, I send greetings, and the news that I will also attend as a cheerleader, observer, and enthusiastic panelist wherever you choose to put me! This project has my heart beating faster, which is a good thing, and perhaps has led to my even higher energy for the other projects I've moved around to be there when you asked...I love this positive spirit. It will move mountains. You asked for an email. ekochansky@gmail.com. Sorry to have lapsed in my reply...couldn't imagine how the planets would align, but they did, in time!

The news arrived early this morning: our two Indian ladies from the Arpan Cooperative HAVE RECEIVED THEIR VISA! Until now it was a dream ready to be squelched by U.S. Homeland Security. Today it is a reality.
From the very start of our effort, right after Gwylène came back from India, I insisted that at least one Arpan artist should come. There was no choice. It is one thing for the privileged among us to travel to the States, or England or India. It is an other for Sharda and Sunanda to be given the opportunity. MarketPlace Handwork of India partnered with us to make that happen.
Art can be this kind of leveler, folks. Let us celebrate.
The other good news is that Marcia will travel to Charleston with her son. There was a doubt. It had been lifted.
SO, THE WHOLE CREW will work together to make THE FUTURE IS ON THE TABLE a unique event, here, there and everywhere.
I repeat myself: art can be this kind of leveler.
Thank you all. And, see you sooooooooon!

Ah ha! This has appeared online now, very good. Here is my response, from the email: I think the carts are a present, somewhere we can go and be 'at home' even when we are in Charleston far away from our (other) homes. Great to hear from you, and glad you are enjoying the struggle of the carts. I for my part will enjoy the struggle of the gifts. We are so lucky in our struggles...
