The poeple with the most power and control over health care are the silent voices comforted by being in the middle ( like myself). Companies take care of most of it and we are never exposed to the difficulties experienced by others. While we have the power, prestige, and money to make movements on the issue we don't becaue we don't have to.

Omari - Thanks so much for the Open Mic event, I really enjoyed it and it made up for missing a few late nights at ROOTS this year... I love those events!!

Hey Omari- Do you have any personal recipes to contribute... maybe something your mom likes to cook? Gwylene suggests that you ask Frank Martin for ideas if you cannot think of anything, but I know there are tons of American dishes you can choose from.

Hi Omari- You probably don’t remember me, but I worked at the cafe in the fall when you were starting. I am working as Gwylene’s assistant for The Future is on the Table and I am excited to work with you again!
I am writing to see if you could submit a recipe for the International dinner we will be hosting. Any dessert, soup, appetizer, or main dish you enjoy and feel represents your culture/heritage. Thanks so much and I hope to see you soon!

I've added an option to 'add music' the left hand side of your own page, so you should be able to upload any audio files directly onto your page if you'd like.

Hi Omari

It would be great if we could get some sound files of your work on the site. If it's not obvious how, then send them over and I'll see what I can do. I think there are lots of possibilities with this website that we'll only find by trying to push the limits! If you want, send the audio to rajni@rajnishah.com and I'll see if I can put some up on the site.

Racial Health Care, politics, beer with the pres and Bullsh**?

It took me a while to realize there are racial paradigms and the paradoxical aspect of the conservative race. This version of health care is clearly protest of a president of color. Tea parties, town hall meetings etc. are all resentment because someone (who's mother doesn’t look like mine) didn’t believe in the limitations that some scientist who designated him negroid and a groundswell of cultural madness that followed it rose to be the top dude on the planet behind whoever we owe money to in… Continue

To be informed is DANGEROUS? THE NEW DANGER

In an e-vite for the open mic at the gallery The New Danger was described by me as a group of artists and organizers who believe being "informed" is dangerous. A fellow artist thought this was destructive and misleading. They clarified what they meant and saw a connotation of being informed as being dangerous as possibly implying the rejection of recieving information. I thought The Future was truly on the Table and responded.

I didn't catch the double meaning in the statement that being inform… Continue

Take Role; Take Roll-Absentee ARtists

I was recently asked about a topic point concerning who/what was an absentee artist? my response...

You ask...
What is an absentee artist?

my interpretation of the absentee artist is on a few levels. The show constructed a community via invitation and collaboration with the project so to me the absentee artist might be people who rejected the concept of receiving an artwork or a gift to adapt to their own creativity and documenting it; I dont know if that was an actual occurrence but because… Continue
